Nobody predicted this scoreline. Coming into their very first BSCL match, Fire Brigade Sporting FC faced the toughest possible test — a Potros FC side fresh off a crushing 9–0 opening day victory and looking every bit like the team to beat in the league.

Fire Brigade did not read the script.

They struck first, silencing any doubts and signalling immediately that they had come to compete. Potros FC responded well and found an equaliser to level the match at 1–1, and for a moment it looked like experience and momentum would swing in their favour.

It did not.

Fire Brigade Sporting FC dug deep, found another gear, and absolutely took over. Three more goals followed as they dismantled one of the league's strongest sides and ran out emphatic 4–1 winners. The Brandon Soccer Community League has a new force — and Fire Brigade announced themselves in style on their debut.
